AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): Whereas Tripura has become the den for rapists and there would be hardly any day when women are not victimized here either its rape or any other issue DGM K Nagraj is now a days busy in showing eye-dazzling data on 'decreasing' Crime-rate in Tripura. But as per the Govt data released recently, it was said that 25 % cases are unregistered (i.e. police do not take the cases), and 25 % cases only can end with proper justice. That means around 75 % of the registered and unregistered cases are dumped under files without proper investigation. But reacting over media’s claim on increasing crime against women Nagraj has recently published a calculated data showing that Tripura has almost overcome in crime against women, whereas Nagraj’s father’s father NBRC said something different.

The 2015 National Crime Report Bureau (NCRB) reports of Tripura confirms that the state still records serious crimes against women.The rate of Crime Against Women cases in Tripura is 88% while the national normal is 56.3%. Moral policing of the kind listed above seems to be on the rise, with women joining the men in attacking other women.

Whereas historically from TCS officer to CPI-M, RSP leaders were found in rape cases, Nagraj said from 2015 this year 25 % has decreased.

Thus whereas nationally it was said that around 34 % crime against women is increasing in India, at Tripura crime decreased by 25 %?

According to Nagraj press release, “……….During this year, the total overall registration of crimes against women has come down to 977 cases as against 1221 in 2015 and 1531 cases in 2014.  Cases related to torture upon women by husband or relatives of husband, has come down to 410 cases as against 466 in 2015 and 665 cases in 2014. Dowry death cases have come down to 15 as against 27 in 2015 and 35 cases in 2014. Rape cases have come down to 189 during this year as against 197 in 2015 and 225 in 2014. Molestation cases have come down to 202 as against 323 in 2015 and 437 in 2014. Elopement cases have come down to 10 as against 110 in 2015 but marginally increased as compared to 2015 (93 cases). Under remaining heads, it has come down to 55 cases during this year as against 98 in 2015 and 76 in 2014”.

However, following CM Manik Sarkar’s formula who jumps the literacy rate, MGNREGA Mandays rate as per wish, why not his disciple CBI Chargesheeted Nagraj will follow that. However, nation is now eyeing for NCRB report.

TCS officer  Panna Ahmed was alleged to have  forcefully raped the wife of a lawyer  of Agartala in his own residence . Accordingly the victim lodged a complaint in the West PS ( Case No 52/2016) under Section 342,506 and 376 of IPC. Interestingly police did not register Section 376(1) against Comrade Panna. The minimum punishment under this section is 7 years of imprisonment. Panna Ahmed has always been known for being a Left Party worker(General Secretary of SFI during his college days) . Apart from being being the specially blessed official of Manik Sarkar, Panna is also known to a close aide of Youth & Sports Affairs Minister Shahid Choudhury & he is enjoying his bail.

Rape in moving bus : The incident occurred in July while the bus was going from Belonia Rajnagar to Radhanagar. Taking the opportunity of the empty bus, (When all Passengers came down, but unfortunately the women was sleeping and couldn’t come down of the bus) the bus driver Parimal Debnath and the conductor Joydeb Deb raped her brutally.

On My 13, at Kamalpur minor girl was brutally raped. In Aug10 a girl child in Tripura was minor rape was reported from Melaghar, Rajiv nagar area. July 16 at Udaipur and July25 another girl child was raped Teliamura under Khowai district, On Dec 12 A minor girl has reportedly molested at Belonia Ballamukh area. On Dec 2nd under Salema  Police Station another case was registered.

On Feb 9 a housewife brutally beaten and on the same day the Chachu bazaar rape case came in hand.

On Sep 19 two rapes held at Belonia subdivision.

The prominent RSP councilor of Agartala 10 No ward Mrinmoy Sen, who  was also working as the head of a Kinder Garden pr-primary school has been arrested for abusing a girl child on Dec 9 and on that same day he got bail also. The Julia murder case is reportedly under loose chargesheet.
