AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): No relief for common sufferers in Tripura even during the New year day also. Whereas the whole nation is busy to celebrate the New Year-2017, Tripura’s village women were busy in protest for their basic facilities of their daily lives. The local women of Balukiya Lunga, Agartala on Sunday blocked the main road in their locality with empty pitchers on their hands. During the protest the women alleged that the water supply has been disrupted in that area long back, due to some machinery fault, but even after many complains the authority didn’t take any action till day, resulting acute drinking water crisis to them. Reportedly, may times they went to the PWD offices and gave written complain about the water crisis and other problems but nobody took any action. Although before few days few officials visited the spot, but no action has been taken so far.The drinking water crisis has remained as a part of everyday problems for us here, a local women alleged. Not only on hills but in plain areas also the problem hit day to day lives. As a result roar of protests are held everyday here in many corners of the state.

However, the local authority came to the spot and told the protesters that their problem will be solved within a day, TIWN reported.

But during election, CPI-M begged votes from the local people with the high promises to keep them in luxury but in return lifer never changes for these poor people.

Apart from Bengali populated areas, the Tribals in Tripura's hilly areas are deprived of proper schooling for their children, where education system is for the name-sake. Teachers are provided there very less and classes remain most of the times “Empty” without teachers.

Health centre’s qualities are also very poor there. In most of the areas a whole hospital is often run by a single doctor, and in the absence of that doctor one or two nurses take care of the patients. Medical facilities are also very poor there. ‘Nothing’ is available there indeed.

The lives in hills is very tough, but it is also very common in Tripura.  Luxurious life is a dream for hilly people, they do not have basic facilities for living.

Manik Sarkar ruled state often described as possessing a govt. which is ‘for the poor people’, but if one walks few miles from the city life, the reality comes to disclose. Tripura is claimed for having the highest literacy rate in allover India, but such hilly areas depict another scenario.
