 Security tops Durga Puja plan in South Tripura

Agartala, Sept 27(TIWN): Administration of South Tripura district is taking no chance with regard to the security of the pandals for celebration of Durga Puja said Superintendent of Police, Sankar Debnath on Friday.

 He said, “We have decided to step up the security at the pandals, arrangements have also been made for metal detectors, fire extinguishers and CCTV cameras will also be installed in major puja pandals.

 “We will also have officials inside the pandals in the crowd, dressed as civilians, to make sure that nothing goes wrong," South Tripura SP said.

.  The police officer said “Elaborate arrangements have been made to provide assistance to the puja samitis in the area. Security is a major concern, as so many people attend the event. Adequate personnel will be deployed in all major areas”

    As South Tripura shares international border with Bangladesh, Mr. Debnath said BSF will arrange two special observe post. Besides BSF are directed to keep extra vigil mainly at unfenced areas to prevent entry of anti – social elements during four days of Puja.
