The green signal yet to come but as per report the trial run was very much satisfactory. On Sunday morning 10 AM, in trollees the Railway Team led by safety commissioner Sailen Kr Pathak had started journey from Agartala Railway station to Udaipur. A train also ahead of the trolley lead the Railway Team. After the inspection was fully done, Agartala-Udaipur route to see regular passenger journey. It is to be mentioned here that the inspection had began from Sunday morning 10 & at afternoon, the team returned back to their destination. The team left Agartala Rail Station with cheers & enthusiam following a ritual.

However, gradually the rail-line is expanding towards South Tripura making one after one history on Tripura’s soil.

BJP led Central Govt is trying to upgrade NE infrastructure & after railway has started to run on Tripura’s soil the central govt. is asking the state Govt. to use Railway as also its potentiality & to boost railway revenue. But due to Tripura’s lameduck Ministry Central Govt. is getting no cooperation from Tripura, although Modi’s Act East Policy is determined to upgrade the state.

NFR also earlier had been successful in every trial runs. In 2016, Tripura got first BG train & now regular passenger journey is held by local as well as Express Train from Agartala to Delhi, Delhi o Agartala.

Moreover, Indo-Bangla railway project and the work of rail line of Agartala-Sabroom are also getting momentum.

If everything falls in place, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is likely to run passenger train on the newly converted Broad-Gauge track across whole Tripura in state by 2017.

The proposed Kolkata-Agartala Express train also to start  soon, immediately after few bogies are managed.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016. With the introduction of the BG facility, travelling would become more easy and reasonable.

On the day of Delhi-Agartala Express train inauguration, Prabhu also said, “In 2- 3 years, the budget has been increased a lot. In 2014-15 it was 5,489 crores, in 2015-16 it was 6,100 crores, in 2016-17 the target will be atleats Rs. 7,000 crores”.

Modi’s Act East Policy’s blessing continues Tripura’s soil and 2016 is considered as a historical year for Tripura, as in this year state got its first broad-gauge, then one express train & now state is again ready to get the 2nd Express Train within 2 months of gap.
