Agartala, May 24 (TIWN): A 52-year-old man’s body was recovered from Dhalai River beside UBI point under Kamalpur sub-division, today. The deceased was identified as Haridas Modak (52), a resident of Haluli Panchayat under Kamalpur sub-division, confirmed police.
The body was found by the local people of the said area and they informed to police immediately. After receiving the information police of Kamalpur police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body. No injury mark was found on the body, said police. Later, the body was sent for post-mortem to the Kamalpur BSM hospital.
The family members of the deceased identified the body as Haridas Modak (52), a daily labourer. One of the family members informed to police that he was missing since Friday afternoon. It was not informed to the police as his wife is a mentally disorder woman. The actual reason of the death is yet to be ascertained, said a police official. The local people and police preliminary suspected that Haridas was died in the river by stroke as yesterday was very temperate day.
