Agartala, May 23 (TIWN): Naresh Chandra Jamatia has taken oath as Minister for Forest, Rural Development and Election Departments of the state around 11 am at the Governor House, here today. The Governor of the state- Devananda Konwar administered the oath of secrecy to the new minister Naresh Jamatia. The oath taking ceremony began with the address of the Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar Panda.
It is mentionable that, Naresh Chandra Jamatia, 55, has been inducted in place of Minister- Jitendra Chowdhury. Minister Jitendra Chowdhury resigned from the state cabinet as winning candidate of East Tripura Parliamentary Constituency on May 20. Later, the state government declared the name of Naresh Jamatia as next cabinet member.
Naresh Jamatia was a CPI-M MLA of the 30-Bagma (ST) assembly constituency for long period. Though he could not complete his electrical engineering, Naresh is most intentionally exposed person among all CPI-M Tripura State committee members. He travelled many countries on tribal issues. He was considered to be the most vibrant face for CPI-M in tribal community with modern outlook.
All the cabinet members including chief minister Manik Sarkar and other higher administration officials attended the oath taking ceremony at Governor House, today.
