Agartala, May 22 (TIWN): A 32-year-old man’s body was recovered from Maharajganj market of the capital beside the bank of a water body, this morning. The deceased was identified as Kasem Miah (32), a resident of Daspatti, Gangail road, confirmed police. The murdered person was a retail businessman of Maharajganj bazar. Kaseem Miah was murdered in wee-hour of last night.
The body was found by the local merchants of the market and informed to police immediately. After receiving the information, police of East Agartala police station including Addl SP (West) - Jayanta Chakraborty rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent for post-mortem. Several injury marks were found on his face, confirmed police. Initial investigations suggested he died of multiple injuries inflicted by a blunt object on his body, mainly on face. There was no official update from Tripura police, although an official confirmed a murder investigation is under way. "We are awaiting the autopsy report and after will discuss further," a police official added.
The family members of the deceased said it was pre-planned murder and he was murder brutally. They also said that he had some misunderstandings with local merchants. On the other hand, a co-worker of the killed person, Bijan Sharma is absconding after the incident.
However, a specific case has been registered with the East Agartala police station. Police kept secret the names of the suspected persons for further investigation. Police could not arrest the killer.
