AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty’s handling the case of 10,323 teachers was granted in Supreme Court is escaping from talking to media. Chakraborty on the occasion of an observation day on Saturday like an irresponsible Minister is declining to talk to anyone, to avoid questions about 10,323 teacher’s future. Nobody knows when the final hearing at Supreme Court will be held. Bu question remains what will Govt. do for the teacher, if Supreme Court declares judgment as per the High Court Order, which had ordered to terminate the teachers’ job & to recruit new teachers. Tripura Govt. although, challenging the High Court appealed in Supreme Court but it also started to take fresh recruitment for teacher’s posts. The minister has no idea under how much tension the teachers are going through. On the hearing day, numerals calls in TIWN Office came to know about the hearing of the case. But unfortunately, nothing was cleared as Supreme Court didn’t announce anything on that day, neither it declared any further dates for the hearing. Although on Friday, the case received its first hearing, in a divisional bench, No-5 court chaired by Justice JasthiChalameswar& Justice Abhoy Manohar.

Although the case was raised first time to SC, but no further date has been mentioned so far.Supreme Court justice wanted to know whether every petitioner has received the notice.

Thus, an uncertainty looms large over the future of 10,323 teachers’ fate, who are presently working in different government schools of Tripura, whose jobs were cancelled by Tripura High Court finding the recruitment was done by Tripura Govt. by violating the rules under Job Recruitment.

Then challenging the High Court Tripura Govt. appealed in SC, but till day no solution to the case yet received.  But reaching out Education Minister has now become almost impossible, as he is simply avoiding to pick any call.

The teacher’s jobs were to terminated on Dec 31^st. But however, they have been not terminated but unless & until the hearing is done-------- nothing can be said. Last time Tapan Chakraborty said, the Court will go as per its timing & rules. Presently apart from waiting for the judgment, nothing can be said.

It is also expected that the case will once again get postponed to the next date at Apex Court as the ruling CPI-M government fears that if the Apex Court also terminates the teacher’s job, which may affect the vote bank of CPI-M government in the upcoming 2018 Assembly Election.
