AGARTALA, Aug 28 (TIWN): TMC VP Mukul Roy is likely to arrive in the state on September 3rd with a bundle of gifts and announcements for Dipa Karmakar to woo her to join TMC as the face of the party ahead of 2018 Assembly election. The idea is to use the prevailing anger within Dipa and her family and make her the TMC mascot for 2018 assembly poll.

It is to be mention here that there is anger among the family members of Dipa Karmakar and Dipa herself over the response of the state government over her rare feat in Rio Olympics. Now in order to give vent to their anger political parties is all set to begin a slugfest to rope in Dipa and their family members to their fold. As a first step Dipa will be wooed by Trinamool Congress

Dipa Karmakar created history by becoming the first Indian gymnast to enter the Olympic finals at the Rio Olympic Centre here.

The 22-year-old qualified for the final round in the individual vault final of artistic gymnastics after finishing eighth on the standings on Sunday.

Competing in the third sub-division, Dipa had an average score of 51.665.

In uneven bars, Dipa scored 7.166 for execution and 4.5 for difficulty. In balance beam, she scored 7.566 for execution and 5.3 for difficulty while in floor exercises her scores read 7.133 for execution and 5.2 for difficulty with a penalty of 0.3.

By time she finished, Dipa was sixth in vaults and 27th overall and had to endure a nervous wait of five hours for the other two sub-divisions to finish. The top eight qualify for the final.

After creating history by becoming the first Indian Gymnast to qualify for the olympics Dipa Karmakar has clinched the gold in vaults finals at the test event of the Rio Games.

This event unknown to many was held earlier this year in Rio. She has been termed as a medal prospect for India in the upcoming Olympics.
