AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): With the aim to discuss the issue of cross border terrorism in Bangladesh and its implications on India’s border-states, Tripura Infoway has once come up with an idea to discuss on Terrorism in Bangladesh and its implications for the Indian border states. Addressing the press meet on Wednesday Saumen Sarker (Editor) & Subir Bhaumik ( Former BBC Eastern India Bureau Chief) at press club stated that the 3rd Tripura Conclave to be held at Agartala on 26th August 3pm at Sukanta Academy. The Conclave takes up one issue of importance for India's Northeast each year. It is a one-day event begins with an indoor brainstorming session between invited experts / decision-makers, then followed by a public session at 3pm at Sukanta Academy, Agartala. Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy consented to deliver the keynote address. India and Bangladesh need to fight this menace together.

The need for closer security cooperation between the two countries have never been more necessary, added Subir Bhaumik ( Former BBC Eastern India Bureau Chief).

The Conclave will thus not merely discuss the problem - it will try to evolve a roadmap for closer India-Bangladesh security cooperation, specially between Bangladesh and the bordering Indian states.

The 3rd Conclave will bring together topshots from the security dispensation of India and Bangladesh and from the Northeastern states. A B Mathur , former secretary (security) and now member of National security Advisory Board, will spearhead the dialogue.

Commodore Nurul Absar from NSI (Bangladesh) (equivalent of IB India) will enlighten the Conclave about the situation in Bangladesh and strategies to counter the situation. Assam police intelligence chief Pallabh Bhattacharyya and well known security expert Jaideep Saikia will speak on the Islamist threat to Northeast.

Saumen Sarkar will emphasise the need to fight radicalism on the cyberspace and possible strategies needed to get that going.

Stressing on the issue of cyber security, sarker said that  Cybersecurity, Counter-Terrorism in Cyberspace is not the domain of traditional khaki wearing Policemen or traditional Military officials but it should be 100% driven and run by top-notch technical experts on Cyber Security, Network Communication Engineering professionals alongwith traditional law enforcement organizations.

Cybersecurity & Counter-Terrorism Experts in advanced countries like Israel, USA, Russia work in sync with traditional law enforcement professionals to contain terrorism.

Terrorists have always used whatever technology was available to get their message across and recruit new followers. In the past it was audiotapes and photocopiers; now computer technology makes it incredibly easier for all web based terrorist organizations like ISIS to recruit misguided youths in the name of religious duty worldwide.

From India’s terror attacks to massive rise of terrorism in Bangladesh, it is extremely important for all South Asian nations to create a Cyber-Counter-Terrorism platform to share expertise on terror tracking in Cyber space.
