AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): State-wise various policies were adopted during the 70th independence day of the Nation, but for Tripura nothing was new, as the CM from the beginning to end talked in political language manipulating the protocol of Independent Day speech. He was utterly busy in criticizing the central govt. and propagating his own party. But Karnataka on Monday offered to waive off 50 per cent of the cooperative loans availed of by the state's farmers if the Centre agreed to write off a similar percentage of loans sanctioned to them by nationalised banks.
"Our government is ready to waive off 50 per cent of the cooperative loans availed by farmers, provided the Union government too agrees to write off 50 per cent of the loan amount financed by nationalised banks," Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in his address at the 70th Independence Day function here.Farmers across the state have availed of loans totalling Rs 29,000 crore from various nationalised banks during 2014-15 and 2015-16.

On the occasion of the 70th Independence Day, Maharashtra launched the country's first comprehensive 'Crime Criminal Tracking Network System' through 42 cyber labs inaugurated simultaneously here on Monday.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, while launching the CCTNS, announced that the whole of Mumbai would be under closed-circuit television monitoring by October, while similar projects are underway in other major cities like Pune and Nagpur.Under the CCTNS, the state government will raise a special cyber police force of around 1,000 policemen well trained to handle the growing incidents of cyber crimes, he added.
"Advanced technology will be deployed for the safety and security of all the citizens and their properties through the cyber police force," Fadnavis said at the inauguration ceremony of the cyber lab at the World Trade Centre.

But Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday instead of talking about developmental works, he said the central government was trying to snatch all powers of the state governments and trying to force the states to beg for aid.

"The central government has been continuously trying to grab and snatch the powers of the state governments. Efforts are also on to turn the states into beggars," Sarkar said after unfurling the tricolour at the Assam Rifles ground here.

"If the central government continue to grab the remaining powers of the states, there will not be any federal structures in the country. Democracy will weaken.

"Currently there are two Indias - one for the rich and another for the poor people. The central government is working for the millionaires."

The 70th Independence Day was observed across the northeastern state, with a variety of colourful functions and programmes, including sports and cultural events.

The Chief Minister said 77 to 80 per cent people in India were poor and 30 to 35 per cent people do not write their name while 20 to 25 crore people, mostly youths, have no jobs.

He said instead of moving ahead in industry and agriculture, India had been moving backward due to faulty policies of the central government.

"Rights of working class people are being taken away, prices of essential commodities are constantly rising and the central government is taking anti-people steps.

"Despite the states' repeated demands, the central government is not giving powers to deal with hoarders and black marketers."
