AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): Dipa Karmakar who shined Tripura’s name already in the world of athletics, by her maiden contribution in women gymnastic is going to perform on 14th August late-night and will cross 15th August midnight when people of India will already start to celebrate the 70th independence day. So, Dipa’s achievement may bring cheers to Indians and the celebration will be double after getting any good news regarding gymnast athlete from Brazil.

The Independence Day may bring sunshine to Dipa’s face, as well as the people of India as Dipa being the first Indian woman will perform for women vault in Rio Olympic on 14^th night and in the early morning of 15^th August all will be cleared who got which medal. 

On last Aug 7^th / Aug 8^th night performance all had to wait long 5 hours to know Dipa’s result in Olympic.

People almost had given up, until the result of individual vault was not announced. However, a sigh of pains goes off and was replaced with smiles on every Indian’s faces with the good news of Dipa’s performance at Rio and her Produnova magic.

During the anniversary of India’s independence Dipa will perform at Brazil. India’s 70^th Independence Day is on August 15. Hence it will be a double celebration for Indian’s with Dipa’s performance at Final.

Tripura sports Minister Sahid Choudhury also congratulating Dipa on Monday morning, said, “Let her shine the name of the country more but whatever she did it was undone by any Indian woman till now. Being along from a remotest place Dipa’s performance is just outstanding”.

Talking to Tripura Sports Minister Sahid Choudhury over phone just after the result of Rio in Gymnastic was declared where Dipa’s name also listed for the final round competitor, he said, “Happy with Dipa’s outstanding performance. 

Whatever position she secured that is actually huge. Now she is the 8th champion in whole world of Gymnastic”.“She might bring respect and honour to our country more, but overall till now she has performed very well”, he added. “That level of achievement from a Tripura girl is unbelievable”, he added.

However nothing is unbelievable, as if Sahid Choudhury take a look around the state, he will find, so many Asian games champions are already in Tripura, some of them have gotten a peon’s job and some are almost a forgotten history.

Apart from achievers, in Tripura rural areas many talents are wasting without getting recognition due to the pathetic sports-friendly environment and almost skeleton like structure in Tripura.

However, he further mentioned, “That will be a really double celebration if Dipa achieves something on August 14, as the Independence Day is on the same morning when her result will be out”.

“Dipa without any doubt has fulfilled the first expectation”, he added.

TIWN further stressed upon the issue of Dipa’s being almost lonely at Rio, he said, “That’s very true other countries come with almost in a Gang, They have audience, they have multiple players and they have huge encouragement from the audience”.

“But for Dipa few Central Govt. officials although went, but for us it’s not possible to go to that place”, he added.

“But overcoming all the obstacles, Dipa’s outstanding performance in Olympic being the Remotest area’s athlete was really excellent”, he added.

It’s worthy to mention here that India’s 70th Independence Day may bring billion smiles and tears of joys to Dipa’s face, as well as the people of India --------as Dipa being the first Indian woman to perform in Rio Olympic on 14th night and in the early morning of 15th August all will be cleared who got which medal. 

The final is scheduled for August 14 at 11:15 pm IST (Indian Standard Time), and India’s independence Day celebration will start from August 14 midnight.

India is expecting a double celebration during 15^th August when Independence Day will be applauded with Dipa’s achievement.

Already Dipa’s fans, sports lovers, patriotic personalities have congratulated Dipa in social medias.

Dipa had an average score of 51.665 to be at the 27th position overall. But she showed her magic in her much-vaunted 'Produnova' vault cleanly to score 14.850 on the vault, 11.666 on the uneven bars 12.866 in balance beam and 12.033 in floor exercises. Dipa executed the 'Produnova' in her first attempt on the vault to 15.100 with 8.1 for execution and 7.00 for difficulty. She scored 14.6 in her second attempt with 8.6 for execution and 6.00 for difficulty.

With no other competitor managing to challenge her score in individual vault, Dipa managed to enter individual vault final and grab a piece of history.
