AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): After Agartala-Delhi railway express train service launched with full enthusiasm on 31st July, Tripura eyes for Kolkata-Agartala express train from this running month. Suresh Prabhu during his 2 day visit in Tripura, for the inauguration of BG Express Train from Delhi-Agartala said at Agartala Railway station that Kolkata-Agartala express train service to be launched from August month itself. But talking to Minister Manik Dey, he said, “It’s fully depends upon the Railway Division of India when the express train for Agartala-Kolkata will be started”.

 “Nothing can be said now, as we are not yet confirmed anything about it”, said Minister Manik Dey. He further said, this is not actually state govt.’s issue, it’s fully a matter of the Central Govt.“We placed demand before Suresh Prabhu, now it’s upto them how and when it will be started”, he added.

Minister Manik Dey although claimed high during the inauguration speech at Agartala Railway Station on behalf of Transport Dept. but after the demand placed the before public it seems Transport Minister has fully lost his interest in this regard, as if demand placing before the public is a common practice of Politicians to gather the vote banks.

BJP sources after meeting with Suresh Prabhu at party office confirmed that it’s sure from this month Kolkata-Agartala express train will be launched and also an arrangement to inaugurate the express train will be done on that occasion.

However, it’s worthy to mention here that from Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to all his MPs and Ministers present on that occasion demanded for the express train for Kolkata-Agartala in Bengali language. Chief Minister mockingly said one line in English, “I am very sorry to our respected Union Railway Minister that I can talk in English or Hindi now, if you don’t understand I can’t help now, and if you ask—I will explain you later”.

But unfortunately Suresh Prabhu during his speech promised the masses that this demand was unknown to him but after knowing this on the Spot, he confirmed about the commencement of Kolkata-Agartala Express train service soon and most probably from this running month.

However, Tripura lameduck Transport Minister expressed his ignorance about the launching of Kokata-Agartala Express train.
