AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): Safety of women in Tripura is put on question after an incident of rape was reported from Belonia sub-division under South District where is CM Manik Sarkar has gone for reviewing the law and order of the district.

In a bizarre incident, a  police official was arrested  following the allegations of rape and molestation of a  women at Belonia sub-division under South District.

The incident took place at Belonia South Mirjapur. However, allegation was raised against police official.

The police, who is said to provide security to the people of the nation, it is seen that police are getting their names engaged in the list of rapist.  This incident in Belonia has brought a shame to the entire police department.

However, police is further investigating the case.

It is to  be mentioned here that on the one hand where  CM Manik Sarkar is busy in reviewing the law and order at South district the same day a police official was charged with allegation of rape and molestation.

Despite of several incidents, allegation has been raised that Tripura police is least bothered to deal with the cases and to arrest the main culprit.

It is to be mentioned here that state is hit with rampant crime cases. Among which murder, rape, domestic violence and other illicit crimes are on rise.

It seems like despite of several crime cases happening in the State, the Tripura police are yet in a yawning siesta.

Though the State Government has established several women police station in the State, yet the Tripura police allegedly fail to arrest the culprits and to take strict action.

Most the death of women happening in the state is due to domestic violence, illicit relationship, etc. If proper investigations are done then in maximum cases will reveal that women are burned or forced to suicide.

In Tripura law and order has breakdown drastically and leading to the rise in crime rate in the state.
