DHARMANAGAR, Aug 5 (TIWN): Police recovered 800 litre of petrol from a shop at Durgapur, Dharmanagar. Dharmanagar police led by O/C-Jayanta Karmakar getting informed by reliable sources, held raid on that area successfully.
Following the petrol crisis, at Tripura the black-marketing in petrol raised high. TIWN released many news on Durgabari area’s illegal petrol business during the acute petrol crisis period which public faced in last 2 months.
With this drive of Dharmanagar police locals are now happy.
There are 2 to 4 shops at Rail-Gate, under Durgapur Dharmanagar which has their Go-downs inside. Many stocks are there inside their go-downs, said source. However, their business is so much rampant but the whole system had remained unchecked.
The trucks which come from Guwahati in broad day light, the truck drivers sell the fuel to the local shop-keepers at North Tripura.
This illegal business is however works as chain market of business where reportedly, thieves sell the fuel by the truckload. The trucks which are bearing stock of fuels inside Tripura are selling in high demand at North Tripura.
In the name of NH-44’s pathetic condition, chain market of business are ruling over the state.
Allegations are coming that the black marketing of petrol-business, which are feeding a section of unauthentic group of dealers, has remained unchecked since years.
However, with the sudden initiative police, now the illegal businessmen are facing tough time, said sources.
