AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): yet in the age of 21st century superstitious is yet successful in occupying the mindset of people who still believe in barbaric practice of animal sacrifice to please the god and goddess in the state.

Tripura again witnessed the brutality on animal when animals like goat were sacrifice in the premises of fourteen goddess temple to mark the occasion of traditional kharchi puja at Old Motor stand.

Inhumane traditions of “Sacrificing Animals” to satisfy the mad minds of a group of people in the name of pleasing the Gods continue all over the society, which has blooded Tripura’s soil during traditional Kharchi festival too.

Huge gathering of crowds with joyous cheers followed in Communist ruled State Tripura to observe the sacrifice of buffalos in various prominent temples.

Although being a part of communism, some of the Tripura Ministers tries to boost themselves as anti-religion or beyond all superstations, but religious dogmatisms are as same here as primitive cultures here in Tripura.

Although every year there are so many essay, debate competitions are held by the Tripura govt.’s Education Dept. to motivate the students to come out of the superstitions of religion but in reality no step is ever taken to wipe out the barbaric traditions over there for the sake of vote banks. Moreover, A large number of animals, including buffalo, goats and pigeons are sacrificed in the Tripura temples - all on government expense.

However, the so-called civilized society in this 2nd Decade of the 21st Century and Tripura CM wants to transform Agartala into a smart city,  although such rituals & practices Tripura  projecting the primitive barbaric culture for mere spending time in the alter of God-hood.

Tripura’s Govt. via administrative departments in Temples and without doing nothing to stop this practice, it is providing funds to these temples for Sacrifice of Innocent Creatures such as, Tripureswari Temple, Chaturdash Debatabari Temple, Durgabari Temple.

It’s to be mentioned here that on October 15, 1949, the erstwhile princely state of Tripura merged with India through an agreement signed between Kanchan Prabha Devi, then regent maharani, and the governor general of India. The agreement made it obligatory for the Tripura government to continue the sponsorship of temples run earlier by Hindu rulers. And it continues till this date.
