AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): Along with the nation Tripura will also celebrate National Doctors day on Friday, but question arises how much safe are the patients in the hands of the Doctors of Tripura. The day is celebrated on July 1 all across India to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, aged 80 years. Dr Roy was honoured with the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961.

It is seen that often due to the negligence of doctors many patients dies especially children’s. It may mentioned that prevailing of unruly scenes have become a routine affair at the premier and referral hospital of the state citing negligence of duties by nurses and doctors.

In many cases family members of the patients alleges that due to the lack of treatment by the doctor or ill treatments claims the lives of patients.

Recently Doctors along with two nurses of state referral GB hospital have been accused of a child’s death after a 2year old child died due to wrong treatment. Yet in another separate incident three infants died after they were pushed wrong injection. The death of the 2 year old infant at GB Hospital due to the negligence of the doctor in providing treatment has sparked off a widespread resentment among relatives of the deceased as well common people. Angry people ransacked the hospital seeking immediate arrest of culprit doctor.

The patients sometimes also alleges that even after several request the doctor does not show any interest to treat the patients where as they sit free and passes time.

Despite of several tall claims by the authority to provide better health service to the people of the State, people face negligence in the major referral Hospital of the State, GB Hospital.

Carelessness of the Doctors and Staff in the Hospital risks the life of the people under the Manik’s Golden era.

Allegedly either it is due to the lack of infrastructure or the negligence of the Hospital staffs and the doctors that the patients are facing problem at the major referral GB hospital of the State.

However, this hospital is only hit with the negligence but of most of the Government Hospitals in the State. Some hospital lacks infrastructure, some lacks Doctors and some faces trouble due to the irregularity of the staff and proper treatment.

However, initiatives must be taken to improve the health service of the State. With the improvement of the health service the poor will be benefited as they don’t have to spend money by cutting their pockets for the treatment outside the State.
