AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): When the opposition parties are fuming against the police and ruling Govt. for not arresting Panna Ahmed, Manik Sarkar played a masterstroke only by suspending rapist Panna Ahmed to fool the mass.
Rather than arrest order Manik Sarkar has manage a suspension letter due to which the rapist can save his face from outside and also enjoy Govt. money sitting at home.
Manik Sarkar’s plan is suspension s when a govt official suspended he gets full salary at home (after the suspension period ends). In this way the ruling Govt. has provided the safety umbrella to Panna Ahmed, as earlier the same govt. did with Bimal Chakraborty.
Reportedly, on Tuesday Panna was suspended with the allegation of raping a women on Monday at his private residence.
Although the victim filed an FIR with the West Agartala police station against the Civil Service officer Panna Ahmed but police has not arrested him yet. Rather he is roaming openly in Agartala.
Panna called the victim at his private residence here and raped her. After more than 24 hours of passage getting report from the District Magistrate and police, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar ordered suspension of Ahmed with immediate effect. Government also asked the West Tripura District Magistrate and police authorities to separately inquire the incident and take appropriate action.
Whereas all the opposition political parties, including Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and Trinamool Congress have started agitations separately since Monday night to press for arrest the accused officer, who is unavailable for his comments, but Police is fully sheltering the rapists and saying, ‘Panna is missing from home’.
