Petrol crisis looms large, huge que observed outside the petrol pump, black marketing goes high, petrol available in black for Rs200 per lt: Government silent

AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): As regular vehicle movement is yet to begin smoothly on the crippled NH44, state is facing acute crisis of petrol in the state. Sudden crisis of petrol in the state with the blockade of the NH44 due to immovable condition of the road, common man are paying for it today. Almost all the petrol pumps of Agartala city along with the petrol pumps at the sub-divisions were found hanging ‘No Petrol’ board since last three days and most effectively on Thursday morning. Long queue was witnessed in front of the petrol pumps in the several petrol pumps of the state. Long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala. Meanwhile, petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas. Talking to TIWN, a motorcyclist said he has been waiting in front of a petrol pump in the city for more than two hours.

Outside in the black­ market petrol was available at Rs. 130 to 150 per liter but that is also adulterated with kerosene. Most of the filling stations have put the board of no petrol but actually there is oil. Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel.

Taking the advantage the opportunist are fully utilizing the scarcity by selling the petrol by black marketing. The petrol dealers of the State were emerging in a new trend to earn more money through black marketing which causes artificial petrol crisis in the State.

On the other part, State Government though fully aware about the situation, but takes no step at all.

In the beginning the shortage affected heavy vehicles requiring large diesel refill, but has eventually hit the normal commuters as well. As things stand, many trucks are on standby on city outskirts in demand of diesel.

The acute diesel as well as petrol crisis created chaos among the state people. Following the crisis in Tripura, movement of vehicles has been collapsed partially. Especially the vehicles move to out of the state is facing difficulties at such situation.

Reportedly, for last three days the peoples of the city are facing a huge crisis of petrol with most of the pumps shut down while huge queue noticed outside the petrol pump which is operational in the city. Due to this people were seen waiting for refilling their vehicle tanks. While most of the pumps supplied fuel in short, other few ones were open for the whole day facing huge crowd of vehicles.
