BARUAKADI, DHARMANAGAR, June 23 (TIWN): Tension prevailing at Indo-Bangla Border area under Baruakadi, North Tripura after Border fencing was severely damaged by Bangladeshi smugglers, Islamic terrorist elements which causing rampant theft of cattles, robbery and smuggling of arms, contrabands across Bangladesh. Heavy resentments brewing among locals as Bangladeshi smugglers robbing border area villages daily even though BSF and local Police are mute spectators. Bangladeshi smugglers again cut barbed wire fencing of Indo-Bangla border at Baruakadi on Wednesday midnight /Thrusday early morning. Baruakadi Indo-Bangla border area falls under Dhamarmanagar subdivision. TIWN spoke with Police officials at Dharmanagar, according to Police OC Partha Saha, 6 cattles till now have been reported as theft but Police also clueless about daily cattle thefts and robbery in border areas. Police is presently investigating the physically, Police officials informed.
Due to the negligence of BSF authorities and bribing by smugglers, international border wire fencing is cut in multiple places so that cattles, arms, fensydyl smuggling continue.
Even though BSF sometimes catching the miscreants involved in ganja business or fake note business, the same BSF has failed to control the crime at Border areas along Dharmanagar.
However, TIWN spoke with locals, as per vilagers, condition of Indo-Bangla border area is tensed as Bangaldeshi smugglers, robbers targeting border area villages almost every night via cut fencing.
The situation has been worsened so much that the Bangladeshi thieves cross borders at multiple areas along Baruakadi, enter the Indian mainland by cutting the barbed wire fencing and robs nearby villages, even though so called tight security vigil by BSF in those sensitive areas.
The increasing crimes in border areas are all due to the negligence of the BSF due to nexus among smuggler and BSF officials, local people alleged.
It’s worthy to mention here that the North Tripura is presently undergoing multiple violences including the Bru refugee and Bengali clashes in Kanchanpur, followed by communal clashes in other hillyareas due to influx of Bangaldeshi miscreants.
In this situation the increasing unwanted incidents in border areas, has increased the border violence in state.
