AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): Tripura to witness the historic North East region commonwealth parliamentary association (NERCPA) meeting on Tuesday chaired by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, which may bring positive outcomes of multiple important issues of North East (NE) region which to be raised by different State’s leaders. One day before the NERCPA meet in Agartala, Tripura MP Jitendra Chaudhury expressed hope about many positive outcomes from the NERCPA meet. Asking about the significance of the parliamentary meeting in Tripura, MP Jiten told TIWN that as many issues will be raised to address common agendas of NE region, so solutions likely to help collectively this economically backward region . NE state leaders will be able to place every state’s issues in a collective manner, which may bring out a very positive outcome. However, talking further on that issue he added that if the solution given in the meeting are followed sincerely by the respective State Govt to Central Govt, then the result will be positive for all NE states.
“There are various topics which are to be raised by MPs, among that NE climate, infrastructures to be discussed, which are examples of collective issues”, said MP Jiten Choudhury to TIWN.
The states are together to adapt the same programme which will be fruitful and many common issues will be stressed.
However since Sunday huge security was deployed across Agartala city as Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is already arriving in state on Monday.
It will be the 15th Annual conference of NERCPA which is to be held at Agartala.
Making it a historical moment and Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan would inaugurate the NERCPA conference on Tuesday at 10.45 AM in the house of Tripura Legislative assembly.
Reportedly, 8th Annual conference of NERCPA was held at Agartala during 15th to 18th January, 2005. Then, the speaker Lok Sabha Somnath Chatterjee inaugurated the conference.
Speakers for Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur to remain present in the programme.
Apart parliamentary affairs minister from Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim, other NE ministers to attend the conference.
