AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): It is the beginning of the end journey of so called poorest Chief Minister of Manik Sarkar. At least, two of his cabinet colleagues and three of his party MLAs have received notice from Income Tax department for non-payment of tax against their taxable annual income. Lone female colleague of Sarkar’s cabinet - Social Welfare and Environment Minister Bijita Nath and Forest and Rural Development Minister Naresh Jamatia have been asked to appear before IT officials at Guwahati with supplementing papers. Report said CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarama has already appeared before IT Directorate for NE Region but could not able to satisfy the queries. Two other rich MLAs of poorest (!) party whose identity is yet to be disclosed are also in trouble. IT officials have been tracking the income details and bank transactions of CPI-M ministers and a few leaders. CPI-M leaders have been contemplating baseless arguments to save the criticism after dwindling face of communism in India. According to CPI-M party, whatever amount of money ministers and MLAs are drawing as salary and allowances contributed to the party fund and in turn party paid them a little amount for their livelihood. So, there is no reason of IT officials to calculate entire transaction as income.

Bijita Nath on Wednesday told TIWN, “I got a notice from the Income Tax Department recently, and they asked me to show all my documents. And I will send it as per law.”

Nath also said that “Naresh Jamatia and also 3 other CPI-M MLAs were asked to do the same. However, if we have to go to Assam Income Tax Dept. we will go surely go but presently we are preparing our documents and our representatives to deliver the papers”, said Nath.

“I do not know why suddenly we received the notice”, said Bijita Nath, who was alleged for her chief involvement in a cheat fund group earlier.

“I always deposit my salary’s part in party fund, but may be the income tax department have found something mismatched but we will clarify it”, said Bijita Nath.

“According to income tax department every MLAs salary is hiked, so the tax must be hiked”, Nath added.

“In the next date our representatives will go to clarify the issue, but if we have to go physically, we will go to Gwahati”, said Bijita Nath.

It’s to be mentioned here that Tripura Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia who is well known as the Rubber-king at Udaipur, reportedly continuously didn’t never disclosed his actual property; and Bijita Nath is popular for her earlier involvement in Rose Valley Chit Fund group.

This notice may bring a huge loss for party before the Assembly Election.
