AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues should undergo an immediate learning drive on how to honor properly India's first woman athlete qualified for Olympics in nation's history since India's independence in 1947. The day Dipa Karmakar won the gold medal by beating all the contestants in Rio Olympics test round of vaults, Narendra Modi led Central Govt announced Rs 1.10 crores towards Dipa's training in foreign till August so that Dipa achieves the dream of India - the 1st Olympics Gold Medal in Athletics. Now, to achieve India's dream, what Manik Sarkar led lameduck Tripura Govt did so far ? Is Tripura's Sports Ministry is so fundless that they can't announce a mere Rs 10 lakhs cash reward for achieving this golden feat of Rio Olympic qualification with top rank in vault ? When TIWN called Sports Minister Sahid Chowdhury on Saturday evening 7.10 pm to find out why State is not rewarding her so Minister said, ‘Why state Govt. will give any fund to her now, until she achieves anything in Olympic? After she wins in Olympic, then the state Govt will think about that, now she is just a mere contestant, we don't want to increase her OVER-CONFIDENCE’, lameduck Minister laughingly commented with a punch of mockery .

On Saturday evening after 8 days of Dipa'  arrival in Tripura, Sports Minister Sahid Chowdhury felicitated  Dipa Karmakar with flower bouquet after she was qualified for Rio Olympic-2016.

Sports Minister was shy to receive  Olympic Girl Dipa at Agartala Airport on 22nd April, until she visited high egoistic Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar at Civil Secretariat on Friday.

After Dipa met CM, probably Manik Sarkar asked the sports Minister to organize a felicitation prgramme for Dipa Karmakar so that Govt can wash off hands without paying any cash gift.

Nobody could imagine that Tripura's pride Dipa Karmakar,  whose upbringing was in a backward state like Tripura, where sports had never get any focus would challenge the whole world and will compete the gymnasts world-wide gymnasts in Rio Olympic as India's first woman athlete in Olympics.

Tripura Govt's apathy redsulted poor history in sports and sports like gymnastic in State, mostly sports were always taken just a material to show parades in field during Independence day and Republic Day.

Dipa Karmakar who came back in Tripura on April 22, after she qualified for test round of  Rio Olympics with a gold medal  and was facilitated nationwide from Modi Govt to Calcutta Journalists Clubs..

Sports Minister further said that, “ State Govt wish  her shine at Olympic and bring medals”. 

Sahid Chowdhury also mentioned laughingly that, “ How can you expect State Govt to annnouce cash prize ? State Govt wants her to shine in Olympics . We didn’t give her any cash as it will increase her over-confidence”. 

What Dipa or Tripura can expect from a low class smuggler cum HUJI terrorist Mamoon Miah’s relative Sports Minister Shahid Chaudhury  ?
