KAMALPUR, April 15 (TIWN): The premise constructed under the funding of JNNURM project costing crores of rupees and inaugurated with much hype turned into a den of inevitable calamity within four to five years of inauguration. And it created a fear among the drivers, passengers and day to day users that, at any moment serious accident might take place.
The fate happened to the Kamalpur Bus Terminus. The terminus was constructed by BGM Consortium demanding that they have maintained all the marks of quality. During inauguration, the CM Manik Sarkar also wove many sweet dreams centering the Terminus.
The huge building occupying huge area served to the drivers and passengers with a sort of seating and resting arrangements.
The terminus also had a hotel, the branch of Tripura State Cooperative Bank and the outlet of publisher Jnan Bichitra. Besides, several other shops also remained there. As a result, people almost thronged to the terminus for different purposes.
But this terminus now turned to be a den of fear and terror. And it resulted, as the window-panes from the first floor used to fall on the ground every now and then. It became so as the constructing agency put m-seal like adhesive to fix the window panes to the frame. And as the adhesive dried up it lost the ability to hold the window-panes.
Now, the window-panes might cause fatal injury to any of the drivers, passengers or others.
The Nagar Panchayat authority that remained reluctant so-far should look into the matter with urgency, as demanded the local people.
