AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): In the so-called golden era of CM Manik Sarkar, crime rate has reached to its ultimatum.A trooper of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) allegedly committed suicide after shooting his girlfriend at Durjoynagar area of West Tripura district late on Monday, police said on Tuesday. Is this the view of golden era where a security trooper meant for the safety of the common mass have shoot a girl over love affair issue on Monday late night. Everyday where reports of several murder cases flashes on the screens of media channels, it seems like Tripura police is playing idle role over the incidence. Despite of several incidents, allegation has been raised that Tripura police is least bothered to deal with the cases and to arrest the main culprit. It is to be mentioned here that state is hit with rampant crime cases. Among which murder, rape, domestic violence and other illicit crimes are on rise.

It seems like despite of several crime cases happening in the State, the Tripura police are yet in a yawning siesta.

Though the State Government has established several women police station in the State, yet the Tripura police allegedly fail to arrest the culprits and to take strict action. Most the death of women happening in the state is due to domestic violence, illicit relationship, etc.

If proper investigations are done then in maximum cases will reveal that women are burned or forced to suicide.

Mrinal Das, who belonged to the 9th Battalion of the paramilitary force, shot himself with his service rifle after killing Tanushree Karmakar, a trainee nurse, at her rented house at around 10.30pm on Monday night.

Reportedly, on Monday evening hearing the sound of firing, police rushed to spot, however, they couldn’t enter for four hours as continuous firing sound was coming out of the house.

However, police took an initiative after wearing bullet proof jackets and finally entered the house, but unfortunately dead bodies lying in pool of blood.

Nursing student Tanushee Karmakar was residing in the house of Saurav Dhar (house owner), where the incident took place.

At least 20 times the sound of the firing was overheared. But surprisingly police didn’t enter the spot for hours. It’s to be mentioned here that the incident occurred at around 9.45 am and the police had dared to enter after 12.30, when all the sound had been over.

It is to be mentioned here that day by day reports of rape, domestic violence and kidnapping of girl and women are increasing.

Ministerial authority where claims that the crime against women are decreasing day by day, on the other hand, everyday reports of rape incident or kidnapping of any girl flashes on the news channels.

Although the State Government has established several women police station to curb down the harassment over the women in the state yet domestic violence is going high in the State.
