AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming Tripura High Court Bar election which is expected to be held on March 26, distribution of the nomination has begun on Monday.
It is to be mentioned here that the distribution of the nomination paper is expected to continue till March 16.
Meanwhile, the submission procedure of the nomination paper is also expected to begin on March 16. The process of submission will continue till March 18.
However, the Tripura High court bar election for 11 posts is going to be held on March 26 from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
It is to be mentioned here that Tripura got its bench of the common High Court on 24.01.1972.
Tripura got its permanent bench on May 14, 1992 with the approved strength of three permanent Judges by the Presidential declaration made on the same day.
Besides, it is expected that the counting of the votes will begin from 2pm on March 26.
It is to be mentioned here that on reorganization, by operation of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971 (Act 81 of 1971) when Tripura became a full-fledged State, the High Court of Assam and Nagaland was abolished in terms of Section 28 of the said Reorganisation Act, 1971 and a common High Court came to be established for the five states of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura and two Union Territories (Union Territories of Mizoram and the Union Territories of Arunachal Pradesh).
Later on, the High Court of Assam and Nagaland has been named as Guwahati High Court which was the High Court for Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Manipur as well.
