AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Demanding to take immediate action to renovate the National Highway, Tripura Government Employee Association on Sunday organized 6th biennial conference at PWD Office Complex.
Speaking at the conference, the members mentioned that the Central Government should take immediate action and to provide fund for the National Highway. Commuters are facing problem in the National Highway. They are unable to pass the road without any hurdle therefore; initiatives must be taken to improve the poor road as soon as possible.
Besides, they have urged to curb down the crime against women, to convert the Lumding to Sabroom railway track to broad-gauge and to renovate it as soon as possible, so that the people over there can enjoy the benefits of the broad-gauge train service.
However, they have also urged to improve the Labour law and to provide the basic rights of the labour, to take initiatives to curb down the price hike in the State, to provide job to the unemployed.
Besides, they have demanded to provide fund for the medical treatment to Group-C and Group-D employees for their families, to provide LTC, GDF and group Insurance to the employees after three years of employment.
Further, they mentioned to appoint permanent Audit Officer and Supervisor in to the Department, to conduct review meeting every month with all the Auditor and AAO, to conduct review meet with Block, PWD and other Auditors and AAO, to start vehicle services for the employees to come to the office, to provide ATM service at the Gorkhabasti office campus for the benefits of the employees.
During the programme they have discussed over several issues related to the state and its problems.
