INTTUC holds press meet, demands justice for a rape victim

AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): INTTUC, Tripura state committee on Monday in a press meet at Press club demanded justice for the middle aged women identified as Sati Rani Roy who was exploited in a broad day light at Gandacharra for allegedly supporting Trinamool congress.

Speaking at the press meet, the members of the INTTUC Tripura state committee said that Sati Rani Roy was allegedly brutally beaten up three miscreants identified as Sapna Debnath, Siju Debnath and Raju Debnath for supporting Trinamool congress.

It is to be mentioned here that Sati Rani Roy, resident of Gandacharra was left seriously injured when the three miscreants forcefully entered her shop and looted a huge amount of cash, jewellery, and the prime accused of the case Raju Debnath also tried to molest her in the broad day light.

However, later she filed a complaint against the three accused in Gandacharra Police station under Dhallai District but so far allegedly no major action is taken against the accused.

Demanding justice for the victim, the members of the INTTUC on Monday hold press meet and urged to take necessary action into the incident.

The All India Trinamool is an Indian regional political party based in West Bengal. Founded on 1 January 1998 as a breakaway faction of the Indian National Congress, the party is led by its founder and current Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee. Prior to the 2014 general election it was the sixth largest party in the Lok Sabha with 19 seats; following that election, it is currently the fourth largest party in the Lok Sabha with 34 seats.

On 18 September 2012, TMC Chief, Mamata Banerjee, announced her decision to withdraw support to the UPA after the TMC's demands to undo government-instituted changes including FDI in retail, increase in the price of diesel and limiting the number of subsidised cooking gas cylinders for households, were not met.
