AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Day after day illegal intrusions of the Bangladeshi nationals in land of the State are on rise in the Indo-Bangla Border area.

Just before people could recover from the shock of the illegal intrusion case of 23 Bangladeshi citizens entering the Indian border, BSF on Saturday arrested 35 more Bangladeshi citizens from Raishyabari (Indo-Bangla Border), 35 kilometre inside Gandacherra.

According to the police report, 35 Bangladeshi including 24 women and three children were arrested.

Besides, it has been mentioned that it is a red-handed case. It has been mentioned that BSF has arrested the 35 Bangladeshi illegally crossing the Indo-Bangla Border.

However, within less than 48 hours after the illegal intrusion case of 23 Bangladeshi citizens entering the Indian border another 35 were arrested today by the Border Security Force (BSF) from the Rashyabari area under Dhalai District.

Frequent illegal intrusion through the Indo-Bangla border area has raised question over the duty of Border security force.

Besides, panic prevails over the residence of the area with back to intrusion case. Reportedly, the Bangladeshi residents came to Tripura from tribal dominated Chittagong Hill tracts.

As it has not become possible for the Government to fence all the border area, the citizens of the neighbouring country are taking the opportunity of the absence of fence.

A section of people alleged that due to the under table connection between police and smugglers the police are not doing anything to stop the smuggling of Phensedyl and contraband items.

On the other hand, a section of people residing in the border adjacent area are hit with frequent smuggling of goods in the area.

They further said that every time the officials assure for proper investigation and to keep strict vigilance but the miscreants somehow manages to steal the cows from the area.

People have shown resentment saying that the continuous smuggling in the sub-division tension prevails in the area and leading people to face huge loss in the business.

It is suspected that the miscreants have cut down the fence earlier that is why the miscreants could smuggle the bulls in a short period.

Reportedly, 856-km India-Bangladesh border with Tripura, fencing could not be completed in a little over 115 km border due to numerous reasons, including objection raised by Bangladeshi border guards.

However, it seems like the cases of illegal intrusion are going on high due to lack of fencing in the Indo-Bangla border area. But the State Government is least bothered to take any emergency step to curb the illegal intrusion and the rampant smuggling.
