TELIAMURA, Feb 21 (TIWN) : Amidst tight security postal ballot for VC Election was held on Feb 20 and Feb 21 at Kalyanpur block, under Teliamura Subdivision.
Polling was begun at Saturday morning and continued till Sunday evening.
Vote casting held through postal ballot for about 40 polling personnel, those who are engaged in polling work cast their vote from Saturday.
Talking to the presiding officer Ratan Bhowmik, he said polling was concluded amidst tight security and no unwanted incident occurred during the voting periods.
Rest of the common people will cast their vote on Feb 24.
It is to be mentioned here that special voters who wish to use the postal ballot will have to apply to the returning officer at least 10 days before the date of polling, after which the returning officer must send him or her ballot papers.
Huge security was deployed to conduct smooth and fare election in the state.
Basically, CRPF are intensifying joint operation including patrolling along the border and keeping a close vigil on the movements of people along the border, said the source.
According to the Bhowmik, total voters were 40, among whom 31 casted their votes, and the rest of the 9 didn’t give votes. On Friday total 25 voters and on Sunday total 6 voters gave their votes.
