Violation of HC order: Unruly auto drivers continues to carry more than three passengers

AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Despite of several complains made by the passengers over carrying more than three passengers in an auto, the unruly auto drivers continues to carry more passengers in broad day light.

It is to be mentioned here that despite of regular drive and charging fine by the Traffic Department, some unruly auto drivers still continues to carry more that passengers in the broad day light.

Reportedly, there are auto drivers who carry seven to eight passengers at time and take another route where there is no traffic. When any passenger tries to obstruct the drivers, they misbehave with them.

However, despite of the Tripura High Court’s order to carry three passengers at a time, some unruly auto drivers still continues to carry more that passengers under the nose of the traffic police.

Reportedly, auto drivers carry five to six passengers after 8 pm at night and in the early morning hour. Besides, sometime the auto drivers carry four passengers in the bright day light.

Locals complained that despite of refusing the auto drivers to carry more than three passengers, the drivers forcefully carry.

They further mentioned that if the passengers oppose too much, the driers ask them to leave the auto.

It is to be mentioned here that despite of High Court’s order the unruly auto divers are carrying more passengers than the decided number. It has been mentioned in place of three passengers on the back of the auto, the unruly auto drivers are carrying six to seven passengers.

Yet after putting restrictions on the auto drivers here in Tripura for not carrying more than three passengers, the unruly auto rickshaw driver across the capital city has been found recently violating the rules and regulations of the High Court and the transport department keeps in their babugiri trend by carrying more than three passengers on auto.

However, the unruly auto driver continues to carry more passengers creating problem for the commuters.

Yet after putting restrictions on the auto drivers here in Tripura for not carrying more than three passengers, the unruly auto rickshaw driver across the capital city has been found recently violating the rules and regulations of the High Court and the transport department keeps in their babugiri trend by carrying more than three passengers on auto.

The Transport department during the year 2014 putting a restriction on the auto rickshaw vehicles decided stringent measures would be taken as per motor vehicle act for other passenger carrying vehicles in violation of passenger limit of the respective vehicles.

But till today the department has failed to bring a control over the worsen situation.
