10,323 Teacher termination case: 10 days left for much awaited case to be produced before the Supreme court

AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Just 10 days are left for the hearing of the much awaited teachers jobs termination case scheduled to be produced before the court on February 29. It is to be mentioned here that the much talked teachers jobs termination case of 10, 323 is going to be placed before the court on February 29. Earlier, the case was going to be placed before the court on January 17 or 19 but due to some unknown reasons the case has been further postponed on February 29. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty earlier said that the case is most probably to be produced before the court on February 29. Besides, he also expressed hope to win the case as many of the people job and livelihood is connected. If the State win the case than the job of the 10, 323 teachers will be safe.However, after prolonged several months also the case has not been solved yet. Every time the case has been produced before the court, it gets delayed every time. The delay in the judgement leads to uncertainty over the fate of 10, 323 teachers.

It is to be mentioned here that Left Front Government of Tripura have recruited 1,100 post-graduate and 4,617 graduate teachers in 2010 and 4,606 under-graduate teachers in December 2013.

However, a division bench of the Tripura High Court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, in its judgment May 7, 2014 terminated the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers citing discrimination and irregularities.

The Tripura High Court also asked the state government to put in place a fresh recruitment process by December 2014 and frame a new employment policy within two months.

According to a report, the then Chief Secretary of Tripura and present Union Textile Secretary S. K Panda and Principal Secretary (Education) Banamali Sinha are the main architects in providing job to the 10323 teachers without following the rule of law.

However, if the long awaited case of 10, 323 teacher jobs termination case produces before the court than it will bring hope of light over fate of 10, 323 teachers.
