AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): Capturing second position in the Amarpur bi-election, state BJP on Tuesday held press meet and claimed that the party is slowly but gradually emerging as the opposition party of the state.

Addressing the press meet on Tuesday at BJP office, BJP media cell chairperson Arun Kanti Bhowmik said that this is for the first time in the state that BJP has achieved such huge number of votes with much difference in vote margin with Congress.  He further claimed that Congress could not even succeed in securing 4 percent votes in the bi-election.

However, he further said that BJP has achieved a total of 9751 votes to Amarpur assembly bi-election.

It is to be mentioned here that the state is lagging behind only due to the misrule of the left front government, and BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring the limelight of development in the state. Emphasizing on the issue of development he also said that the party will keenly look after the welfare schemes and infrastructure development in Tripura.

Corruption is touching the high sky under the rule of the left front government, added Bhowmik. None of the government at the central has so far thought about the development of the NE states and only after BJP came into power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the initiative to eye for the development of the NE states including Tripura, claimed Bhowmik.

However, BJP Yuva Morcha President Kamal Dey along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
