The latest trend of work at Agartala railway station shows that days are not so far when people of Tripura can travel long distances in BG trains and get connected to rest of the part of the country.

With the aim to give a new look to the Agartala railway station along with BG conversion wok at Tripura, the workers has also taken up the work of renovation of the railway station at Badharghat.

Even though the authorities have focussed their attention in taking up the BG conversion works of the tracks for the time being, they are also concentrating on the ways to meet the future requirements of the platform to provide the best facilities to the people.

Improving connectivity in the landlocked northeast region is one of the top most priorities of the government. A lot of focus is being given to enhance railway connectivity in the region.

So far under the regime of left front Tripura has never witnessed such historical moment in the state. Apart from inaugurating buildings, market sheds and auditorium the left government has never taken any initiative to bring any revolution in the state.

Only due to the initiative of the central government it has become possible to boost the transportation and communication facility in the state. With the successful trial run of the BG train to Agartala railway station it has paved the way for the development of the transportation and connectivity in the state.

NFR is all set to conduct the CRS inspection to ensure safety of the track which is newly converted from Metre gauge to Broad gauge.

It is to be mentioned here that the newly converted BG rail track of two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala would undergo CRS inspection by the end of February or early March, as claimed by the sources.

CRS inspection is one of the quintessential steps to run the BG track. If everything falls in right place, the CRS inspection will be done in February or by early March and running passenger train depends on the reports of CRS inspection. If the CRS gives green signal, the track will be ready for introducing BG passenger train service by March itself.
