AGARTALA, Feb 14 (TIWN): Despite of the introduction of the SMS facility for booking a refill of cooking gas from the dealers, most of the people have to visit the concern agency for booking.

Locals complained that they have tried the SMS facility for the booking of cooking gas but they received the cylinder after two to three months.

According to the sources report, despite the consumers book their cylinder months ago yet they receive their subsidised cylinder from the yearly quota after two or three month.

Despite of booking LPG Gas Cylinder Refill Booking through SMS people had to wait for long time to collect the cooking gas.

The situation leads the consumers to go for the cooking gas from black market.

In a typical scenario, a customer buys a domestic LPG cylinder from the yearly quota of 12 subsidised cylinders, which is then resold to commercial users or elsewhere at a higher price.

Allegation has been raised by the some of the consumers that despite of applying for home delivery services in the concern agency the consumers had to collect the cylinder from the agency.

And on the month when the consumers do not get the subsidized cylinder on time, they go to collect them by their own.

Despite of several complains to the higher authority, no initiatives have been taken to solve the situation. Therefore, the common people are facing harassment.

However, LPG cooking Gas crisis has worsened across the state, forcing the domestic users to hit the streets protesting against the acute shortage of LPG cooking gas cylinders.

Consumers in Agartala are severely hit by the shortage of Liquid Petroleum gas (LPG) cooking gas cylinders over past many days. 

As a result, black marketing is on the rise, with consumers forced to buy cylinders at prices ranging between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000 a piece.
