Petrol crisis yet to meet an end, Tripura reels under petrol crisis

AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Tripura is yet reeling under severe petrol crisis in the Agartala city and sub-divisional areas for past three day’s continuously. “We expect that the situation would be normalised within the next two-three days," said the official of Food and civil supplies.

Due to the fuel crisis, fewer numbers of public and private vehicles are plying on the roads making it a tough time for the commuters in the Agartala city.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, an official of Food and civil supplies said that the crisis will come to an end soon and the people of Tripura will get relief from the crisis.

Vehicle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas. The crisis is continuing in the state for past three days. All the petrol pumps of Agartala and other major cities have been witnessing a long queue for getting fuel since morning to late night but many of them went back with empty tanks. Hundreds of vehicles were seen waiting in front of petrol filling station.

Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel. They are forced to spend their days from the early morning onwards waiting in long queues in front of the petrol stations to get fuel.

Petrol crisis continues to suffer the state despite of huge number of petrol pumps in the state. Major petrol pumps of Agartala city were found hanging ‘No Petrol’ notices since past three days. Long queue was found waiting front of the petrol pump.

However, a ray of hope emerged as the official in the food and civil supplies department said that the crisis will meet an end soon.
