Terminated Teacher Case: Next hearing on February 29 probably, Education Minister talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): Uncertainty looms over the fate of 10, 323 teachers, the much awaited teachers jobs termination case further postponed to February 29. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty on Wednesday said that the case is most probably to be produced before the court on February 29. Hoping to win the case, Minister Chakraborty said that with this case many of the people job and livelihood is connected. If the State win the case than the job of the 10, 323 teachers will be safe. He also mentioned that we are hoping that the recruited teachers will not have to depart from their job. Earlier talking to TIWN correspondent he also mentioned that notice have to be sent to all the party which includes- Teacher, Opposition and the Government. However, after prolonged several months also the case has not been solved yet. Every time the case has been produced before the court, it gets delayed every time. The delay in the judgement leads to uncertainty over the fate of 10, 323 teachers.It is to be mentioned here that Left Front Government of Tripura have recruited 1,100 post-graduate and 4,617 graduate teachers in 2010 and 4,606 under-graduate teachers in December 2013.The Tripura High Court also asked the state government to put in place a fresh recruitment process by December 2014 and frame a new employment policy within two months.

However, a division bench of the Tripura High Court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, in its judgment May 7, 2014 terminated the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers citing discrimination and irregularities.

According to a report, the then Chief Secretary of Tripura and present Union Textile Secretary S K Panda and Principal Secretary (Education) Banamali Sinha are the main architects in providing job to the 10323 teachers without following the rule of law.

The recruitment of the teachers has resulted uncertainty over the fate of 10, 323 teachers.

However, the lust for earning huge amount of money and the utilization of power to provide job to the known face or the party supporters lead the fate of thousands of people in problem.

However, it seems like uncertainty looms large over the fate of the 10, 323 terminated teachers.
