AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): Remembering Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan and Tarani Banik, a programme has been organized at TB Association Hall on Monday.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday pays tribute to both the former party members Comrade Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan and Comrade Tarani Banik.
Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan was the former general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), one of the oldest political parties in India.
Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan, steered the party during the turbulent period of coalition politics at national level in 1990s, died in New Delhi after prolonged illness.
Late Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan was born in Barisal, Bengal Presidency, British India (now Bangladesh) on September 25, 1924. He embraced Communism at the age of 15 after he moved to Nagpur.
He joined the All India Students Federation at the Nagpur University in 1940. Besides, he also joined the Communist Party of India in the same year.
Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan suffered a paralytic stroke in the month of December, 2015.
Later, He was admitted to the hospital. However, He died at age of 91 on 2nd January 2016 at a the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in New Delhi.
