AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): Although load-shedding is spiking up in state rather than any sign of improvement, but long speeches & promises of Chief Minister and his Power Minister showing no signs of slowdown as they continue ‘Goebbels lies’ with Tripura worsened power situation due to inept handling of pending bills to State’s power plants. Power Minister Manik Dey is scheduled to attend tripartite meeting in Bangladesh on Jan 9th to talk about the Tripura Govt’s promise of supplying 100MW power to the neighboring country. Even though OTPC Palatana already served warning letter to TSECL to clear pending power bills of Rs 100 crores within Jan 7 but Manik Govt’s showmanship on false promises continue. According to the reports, Power Minister Manik Dey accompanied by state officials will be taking part in a tripartite meeting among Central Govt,, Bangladesh Govt and Tripura Government on January 9 regarding transmission of 100MW power from Palatana project. Besides Manik Dey, Principal Secretary S K Rakesh, CMD of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) S K Roy and Assistant General Manager TSECL Mahananda Debbarma and three officials from Ministry of Power will leave for Bangladesh on Jan 8. The discussion will be held on 101MW power transmission, supply and rate of power tariff for 100 MW power to be supplied to Bangladesh from Palatana.

So, Manik Sarkar’s Govt’s plan is to sell Tripura’s share of OTPC power to Bangladesh to earn crores at the expense of Tripura’s millions of citizens suffering daily load-sheddings.

Sources informed that soon OTPC will cut Tripura’s share if they do not clear the pending bill over Rs 100 crores.

Even after long promises by CM Manik Sarkar, Tripura’s common people are the sufferers who are even to think about a “Load-Shedding-Free-State”.

After OTPC decided to supply power to B’desh, Tripura has already experiencing serious load-shedding problems.

Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) is unable to handle this worse situation as they have no control over political masters.

According to the sources, even though TSECL started to manage shortage in power supply, the people of the state have been facing, frequent load-shedding more than 2 hours during last two weeks.

So one can guess how dark days are coming after the power supply begins to Bangldesh !

Tripura's natural gas reserves are being used to earn money by State Govt and PSUs(Public Sector Undertakings) but its not helping the people of Tripura as promised by Manik Sarkar & company.
