AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): With an aim to inaugurate a Generic Medicine Counter at Bishalgarh Sub-Division Hospital, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir to arrive at Tripura on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference, Chairman of the State Co-operative marketing federation of Tripura limited (Tripura Markfed) Hari Sankar Debnath on Thursday said that Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has been scheduled to arrive at Tripura.

It is to be mentioned here that Hansraj Gangaram Ahir is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India. He is currently MoS Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. He was member of 11th Lok Sabha, 14th Lok Sabha, and 15th Lok Sabha. He is famous for exposing Coal Mining Scam.

According to the scheduled programme, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir to arrive at 9.45 minute in the morning in Tripura Air port, said Debnath. At 10:15 minute in the morning Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers is scheduled to visit IGM Generic Medicine Counter.

Later, at 11:30 am the newly build Generic Medicine Counter at Bishalgarh Sub-Division Hospital will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.

It has been mentioned that from Friday onwards medicines will be provided under the scheme of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana on every Generic Medicine counter.

Besides, it has been mentioned that within the month of January a Generic Medicine counter will be initiated at Belonia Sub-Divisional Hospital.

Addressing the press conference, Managing Director of the State Co-operative marketing federation of Tripura limited (Tripura Markfed) Pada Kumar Debbarma said that by March 2016 the people of Dharmanagar, Kailashahar, Khowai District can buy medicine from the Generic Medicine Counter of the District Hospital.

Besides, initiatives will be taken to open Generic Medicine counter in every sub-divisional hospital by the next financial year.

However, it has been informed that altogether 218 varieties of necessary medicines are available in the counter.
