AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): Demanding to facilitate the Harijan families residing at 79 Tilla, representatives of the society on Wednesday met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at his resident.
During the meet with the Chief Minister the representatives stated that though the State Government has provided facilities to the 108 harijan families and has been given land at Nandan Nagar Sen Para, most of them want to stay back at the present residential area that is at 79 tilla.
Besides, they also mentioned that at the present residential area they can upgrade themselves but if they had to go to Nandan Nagar Sen Para than they will be deprived from various facilities.
They stated that around 60 families had already shifted to Nandan Nagar Sen Para from 79 tilla among 108 families.
Therefore, they urges to stay in the area of 79 tilla so that they can be avail with the present facilities.
Besides, they also mentioned that staying at 79 tilla they can upgrade themselves with education facilities and work facilities. But if they are shifted to Nandan Nagar Sen Para they will not get these opportunities said one among the representatives.
Listening to the issue, Chief Minister asked the representatives take up the issue to Public Works Minister Ratan Bhowmik.
However, Minister Ratan Bhowmik assured to think over the issue and to take a proper action on the issue.
