AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Common mass of Tripura has been given more two months to install set top box in their houses.

Reportedly, the order has been implemented from January 1 and will continue for two month.

As the day was ending, hectic activities have been observed in many houses around the city getting the set up box installed.

It is to be mentioned here that the cable was already been disconnected after the December 31 night. But with the order of the extension of time from the higher authority most of the families who has not installed the set top box yet got relief.

The district administration has directed all multi-system operators (MSOs) and representatives of the district cable television operators’ association to ensure that the seeding of set top boxes is completed in the limits of the municipalities before the deadline.

Despite of several advertisements many houses did not installed the set top box yet. Maybe the set top box will facilitate with HD picture quality but the clear picture of the set top box is yet to be clarified among the mass.

However, around 20 city of the State were disconnected from the cable facility. According to the report, only 30 percent of the consumers has installed set top box in their houses.

According to the sources report, many poor families thins that they cannot afford the cost the set top box therefore they are avoiding to install it in their houses.

Besides, it’s becoming hard for the cable service operator to sell the set top box in the various areas.

The higher authorities had earlier said that deadline could not be extended and all the cable connections without set-top boxes will be disconnected at midnight of December 31.
