KAILASHAHAR, Jan 2 (TIWN): Demanding to renovate the entire road from Kailashahar Old Dakbanglow – Kumarghat, Kailashahar Unnayan Mancha on Friday staged a road blockade at Kailashahar Girls School road.
It is to be mentioned here that altogether 26 kilometre of road has been brought under double lane construction. Altogether Rs. 90 crores of funds has been allotted for the work and the work is under the surveillance of BRO agency.
The members of the Kailashahar Unnayan Mancha claims that according to the planning of the construction of the road around 10 meter of road would have been renovated but the construction agency has been working over 7 meter of road.
The members stated that if the road is not constructed properly than people had to face accidents. Besides, there will not any footpath for the common mass to walk over.
Getting alarm of the incident, SDM Ajit Saukla Das rushed to the spot and assured to talk to the higher authorities.
Besides, BRO engineers Pankaj Dixit also visited the spot and defending himself said that the agency is working as per the direction of the authority.
However, the Counsellor of Kailashahar Municipal Council of Kailashahar Unnayan Mancha said that if no action is being taken to renovate the entire road than they would be bound to call for massive road blockade on January 2.
On the other hand, KMC member Debashish Sen said that after prolonged waiting for 4 years the renovation work of the road has started and if it has been stopped than no idea when it will be started.
