AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): In exercise of the power conferred by Section 25 of the Tripura Shops and Establishment Act, 1970 and Rues framed, the shopkeepers of Abhoynagar Market on Friday were urged to apply for the registration of their shops.

Besides, the shopkeepers whose registration card has expired were asked for renewal.

It is to be mentioned here that the shop owners of Abhoynagar Market had to apply for registration and renewal for the licence of their shop by January 3, 2016 and the process of registration and renewal begins from January 1.

Reportedly, this year the target for the registration of the shops on the Agartala Municipal Corporation area is thirty thousand.

However, after completion of the area in AMC the next target will be Sepahijala District and then at Khowai.

As per the official reports, shopkeepers of Lake Choumuhani Market (Jan 5 to Jan 8), Camperbazaar (by Jan 10), MB Tilla Market (Jan 18 to Jan 21), Chandrapur Market (Jan 27 to Jan 30), Battala Market (Feb 1 to Feb 6), Mathchoumuhani (Feb 8 to Feb 11), MG Bazaar (Feb 15 to Feb 20), GB Bazaar (Feb 22 to Feb 26), Durga Choumuhani (Feb 27 to Feb 29), AD Nagar (Mar 2 to Mar 5), Radhanagar (Mar 7 to Mar 10), Amtali Bazaar (Mar 11 to Mar 13), Kaman Choumuhani to Post Office Choumuhani (Mar 14 to Mar 19), Post Office Choumunahi (Mar 21 to Mar 23), Kaman Choumunahi to Mathchoumuhani (Mar 24 to Mar 26) and others.

However, the registration programmes in the AMC are expected to complete by February 16.

It is to be mentioned here that the shops having no employee have to pay Rs. 100 for registration or renewal, shops having three employees had to pay Rs. 150, Shops having more than three employees had to pay Rs. 300, for Commercial establishment the owner had to pay Rs. 600, Cinema theatre had to pay Rs. 900 and so on.
