Civic Poll : Rupa Ganguly arrives at Tripura to strengthen the party campaign, State BJP President talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janta Party leader of West Bengal, Rupa Ganguly on Friday arrived in Tripura in morning flight. Talking to TIWN correspondent, BJP President Sudindra Dasgupta on Friday said that at first she was resting at the State Guest House. Later on she has left for Dharmanagar. Reportedly, she will be addressing the mass of Dharmanagar and will stay there for today. According to the schedule, BJP leader Rupa Ganguly will further address at Ambassa, Kumarghat on Saturday. On Saturday after completing the campaign at Kumarghat, in the evening she will be leaving for the capital and will address the mass at Shakuntala road.However, on Friday BJP leader of West Bengal Rupa Ganguly has been welcomed by BJP State President Sudhindra Dasgupta at Agartala Airport. It’s to be mentioned here that Rupa Ganguli is an Indian actress, playback singer and politician. She became popular after playing Mahabharat heroine character Draupadi in the hit television series Mahabharata (1988). She also acted in the main role in many famous movies. When Left Front Party and Pradesh Congress Committee are participating enthusiastically in election campaign without any miss, BJP is also no more behind.

In comparison to the other political parties, on behalf of Bharatiya Janta Party of Tripura, Rupa Ganguly on Friday to address the mass to vote the party for the upcoming election.

Just when the civic poll is knocking at the door, all the political parties have bulked up their activities as a part election campaign.

Along with the door to door campaigning the political parties are also urging vote through media channels, organizing rally and delivering speech to influence people and also announcing the party manifesto.

The leaders claimed to serve the interests of the common people, fight communalism and pursue an independent foreign policy. It is for the people to determine what shape the alternative government is to take, urged the leaders while participating in the door to door campaign.

It is to be mentioned here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place on December 12.  Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.

However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.

Besides, for the first time Manik Sarkar has been addressing 11 gatherings in 49 wards of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) with rest meetings in 13 municipal councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats.
