Poor condition of road irks the pedestrians

AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Prolonged deplorable condition of the road connects from Salgarah to Kishoriganj under Udaipur Sub-division brews resentment among the residence.

Reportedly, on both the sides of the road, there are seven gram sabha and two ADC villages.  At least 25 to 30 thousand people residence in the area.

It is the only road for the residence to create communication. As the number of pollution is increasing day by day in the area, the use of the road has become essential for the locals.

People all across the area are facing harassment due to the poor condition of the road, complained a local.

Several potholes have formed on the internal street and it becomes very difficult for two-wheeler riders to ride.

People pay road tax and other fees of vehicles but in return they get such state of bad roads to ply on. Such bad conditions of roads leads to more consumption of petrol and diesel and results in more wear and tear of vehicles, thus subject the consumers/general public to spend more on running of their vehicles.

Regretting the poor condition of the road, which was posing danger to life and property the locals said that they have complaint for several timed but till day no initiatives has been taken.

While the contractors use very substandard material in the job, but once the water starts stagnating on the road in the rainy season, they have good alibi to blame the nature and escape accountability about the use of poor material said the agitated locals of the area.

According to the residents, the road was supposed to be fixed a long time ago, they have been suffering for prolonged days but no initiatives has been taken yet to solve the suffering of the resident.

However, on many occasions, as vehicles passes by the pedestrians have reportedly been injured with stone chips hitting them.
