TPAM stages mass protest demanding 50% increase in pension

AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the World Disable Day, Tripura Pratibandi Adhikar Mancha on Thursday staged a mass demonstration at North Gate demanding for 50% increase in pension.

Tripura Pratibandi Adhikar Mancha also demanded for the implementation of BPL Card. They said that they have been demanding for the BPL card from the year 2003 but day the authorities are not paying any attention to the demands of the disabled people.

Besides, they also demanded to fill up all the vacant post at the Government offices so that the unemployed disabled people can get a way to earn for their stomach.

Besides, the organization has organized a rally and walk across the capital.

Tripura Pratibandhi Adhikar Mancha’ (TPAM) under the aegis of National body for rights of disable persons staged a demonstration in protest against deprivation of the disable people.

They said that every month in the name of pension the disables are awarded with Rs. 300 which is very less to meet the needs of the people, as the rates of commodities are rising day by day.

Besides, the members of the Mancha claims that in many sectors the disable people are suffering as they are being deprived of various rights.
