According to the locale, Abhik, a student of class-IV of Fulchari High School and the son of Amritlal Ghosh was happily riding his bicycle on the Fulchari-Ramdurlabhpur road as his annual examination was over today. Then around 3-20 pm a 709 truck bearing number TR-04-1601 came towards Fulchari and smashed the boy from behind. The collision also smashed the bicycle. At once his parents and family members raised a hue and cry and the locales gathered. The driver absconded leaving the truck.
Immediately, Abhik was taken to BSM hospital and the doctors declared him brought dead. Local people came under the grip of grief. It may be mentioned here that, the police and traffic unit here had virtually no control over the vehicular movement. Each day, the trucks, tippers and cargo carrier auto rickshaws used to ply on the roads at breakneck speed. But the traffic unit failed to put control over them. And it got speculated that, incident like this one would happen many more if the traffic unit not put any control over the speed-happy drivers.
