AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Just ahead of 7 days of Municipal election, all the streets are filled with the flags and festoons of the political parties, which is just a measure to say who is more powerful.

Every year vote comes and goes political figures promises of bringing development and making the state a model state but the pricking truth is that what remains behind is the day long misery in the state.  The promises and the manifesto come with new adjectives but never after the election is a single promise fulfilled.  Election is Tripura has become a run to stay in power and looting public fund and not paying ears to the public misery.

Door to door campaign, political gatherings, everything is organised to woo the voters just ahead of municipal election. Flags, festoons, banners, posters have fill the streets to woo the voters.

The regular rallies and foot marches of political parties during their campaigns have been causing severe traffic jams, giving citizens a hard time.  Political rally organised in the city had brought the lives of citizens to a halt with traffic congestion that took hours to clear.

Crores of money spent for this decoration and campaign and the political shows empty hand while providing service to the people of the state. Only to brainwash the mind of people ahead of election and woo the people for gaining votes in favour of the parties and the nominated candidate is attending rallies to woo the voters.  Eyeing forward to strengthen the base for the upcoming assembly 2018, then parties have geared up with preparation to clearly sweep victory in full swing.

The bag full of public money is wasted in the name of election campaign.  It’s to be mentioned here that the political parties are wasting the ‘public money’ and ‘scam earned cash’ in the name of election campaign like water. To boast themselves as on the top of the hierarchy, all the parties are busy in holding campaigns to earn votes.

If the money would have been spent for a good cause, the political parties would have made their grip much stronger in the state. Apart from holding rallies with music system and flags and festoon if the party would have given some time to the development of the society the party would have gain good name.

But before the election everyday many programmes are being organized here and there. Stages to flower-decoration, and other arrangements surely cost a lot, and few amounts are surely swallowed by the party members.

With the end of the municipal vote the political party will begin preparation for assembly election but no one looks for the development of the state other than clamouring the slogans of development in the campaigns.
