Election control room set-up for the upcoming civic poll

AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, Dec 2 (TIWN): Aiming to accomplish the civic poll peacefully, an election control room has been established at office of Gomati District Magistrate.

Detailing about the phone number and the fax number given for inquiries and complaints are telephone- 03821-226559, Fax no.- 03821-222313.

According to the sources, from the control room people can get any kind of information regarding the election.

Besides, it has been mentioned that the control room will be active till December 12.

To avoid any kind of untoward incident, a full-proof security arrangement has been made by the administration.

Besides, to drop infiltration through Indo-Bangla international boundary in state at zero, Border Security Force (BSF) put the border on high alert.

Troops of BSF and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) are intensifying joint operation including patrolling along the border and keeping a close vigil on the movements of people along the border.

At least twenty companies of CRPF jawans would be deployed to gaurd strong rooms where EVMs are to be kept. The CRPF jawans have already taken possession of twenty strong rooms where EVMs will be kept after the polling on December 9. Apart from strong rooms, CRPF jawans would be deployed when ballot papers are being printed for the civic elections.

It is expected that there would be no lack of security personnel for the civic elections. CRPF and TSR jawans would keep a strict vigil to ensure error free election.

However, it is t be mentioned here that following the inputs from DMs and SDMs of the total 730 polling stations, the police administration has identified around 70 percent booths as sensitive where TSR would be engaged on the day of election. To ensure a violence-free election and to avoid any pre-poll untoward incident, a full-proof security arrangement has been made by the administration.
